Project Overview

Construction and associated works of multiple Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) units for Yorkshire Water.

Reinforced Concrete retaining walls civil construction
01.

The Challenge

Yorkshire Water required numerous CSO (combined sewer overflow) structures constructed to collect rainwater runoff within their pipe network.

Outflow Concrete CSO Pipe
02.

The Solution

Works included excavation, the construction of several CSO structures, screening chamber and outfall headwalls. Reinforced concrete works, benching and pre-cast concrete slabs were cast on-site adjacent to CSO’s for assembly. Once built, the drainage tie-in connections allowed the facility to receive the water intake. Associated ground road, kerbing and footpaths were reinstated to complete the project.

The Result

The newly constructed overflow and sewage treatment chambers allow safe management of excess water within the system during peak storm periods.
