The Challenge
To construct a four-car hand washing facility by retrofitting the existing walkways with trackpans and connecting new water disposal facilities to the existing drainage network to prevent toxins from entering the ground.
The Solution
Installing trackpan side panels to the washing area directly routes the discharged water to the existing drainage system instead of filtering through the permeable ballast.
The Result
This solution provides a safer level access walkway where the trackpan offers water discharge capture and control to ensure minimum environmental disruption. The safer access platforms allow team members to clean the rolling stock safely.
